I studied illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design from 1987 to 1991. I was an apprentice of Barry Moser and Alan Robinson, two well known illustrators working with wood engraving. I fell in love with the medium and picked up the craft of letter press printing as a result. Wood engraving has a truly distinctive look, and when printed from the blocks in limited editions, it cannot be matched in its almost sculptural beauty.
Unfortunately this gallery cannot compare with seeing the work in life, but at least it will describe my visual style as an illustrator.
